MNQ and NQ: where to read, where to execute
The Micro E-mini Nasdaq (MNQ) is worth a tenth of the NQ, with the same 0.25 point tick at $0.50. The NQ course presents it as the learning contract. Here we go further: the MNQ has become, in number of contracts, the more traded of the two, and that changes how to use both books.
Two books, one price
The NQ and MNQ have distinct books on Globex. They quote the same index and are continuously arbitraged by algos that buy one and sell the other as soon as the gap exceeds a tick. The price is therefore the same, to a tick, but the composition of the books has nothing in common:
