Institutional Order Flow: NQ Futures
Module 04 · The ten institutional setupsLesson 11 of 2610 min🔒 Students only
Setup 1 · Iceberg Absorption
Level: intermediate · Target R:R: 1:2 and above · Window: New York open, PM session
An institution places a large iceberg order at a structural level. The market arrives with momentum, the iceberg silently absorbs the aggressive flow without letting price through. Price stalls, the aggressors exhaust themselves, then the move resumes in the absorber's direction. This is the most "institutional" setup of the course: you position yourself on the side of the one who has size.
What you need to see
- DeepDom: the Iceberg Detector lights up at a level that matters (POC, VAL, VAH, VWAP, previous day's low). The heatmap shows a dense band at the same price, preferably an old one. The BT/AT column takes far more than the displayed size.
- DeepCharts: on the last two or three footprint candles, the delta diverges (bearish candles but neutral or positive delta: buyers are resisting). The CVD does not plunge.
- Context: no macro release within the half hour, active session.
