The daily routine
The trade is won before the open. A desk does not "watch the screen": it prepares, executes a plan, then reviews. Here is the typical day of this course, in New York time (add six hours for Paris).
Pre-market, 8 a.m. to 9:25 a.m.
- Check the macro calendar. A major release within the thirty minutes following the open: you do not trade the open.
- Draw the levels in DeepCharts: VWAP, previous day's POC and value area, previous day's and overnight high and low, round numbers, unfilled imbalances.
- Look at the weekly profile: is price above or below the weekly POC? That is the context above the day.
- Watch the DeepDom heatmap in pre-market: unusual walls? Icebergs already active?
- Write down your bias and your two or three priority setups for the day. Not ten. And your scenarios: "if X breaks with continuation, then…; if X is swept then rejected, then…".
