Trading desk: advanced order flow

Module 06 · 6 · Advanced order flow setupsLesson 18 of 2810 min🔒 Students only

Reversal setup: absorption and divergence

Context: session extreme or edge of the value area, after an extended move. Ideally on a range day, or at the end of a trend day when value stops migrating.

The triggers (everything must line up)

  1. Absorption: price stops advancing despite persistent aggressive delta. Huge volume, zero result.
  2. Delta divergence: new low in price, but not in cumulative delta. The selling aggression no longer follows.
  3. Failed sweep of an obvious level (liquidity grab): the stops were triggered, and nothing followed.
  4. Flip: the delta switches to the opposite side, the queue reloads at the defended level.
