Options flow and GEX: reading SPX context to trade ES and NQ

Module 08 · 8 · The daily workflow in confluenceLesson 27 of 319 min🔒 Students only

Before the open: five minutes, three levels, one sentence

The desk

Two windows. On the left, the context: the SPX GEX Profile on all expirations, the 0DTE profile, the Gamma Bands and the Expected Move. On the right, the execution: your ES or NQ chart with the DeepDom heatmap, the footprint and the CVD, as in the previous courses. The context never touches the order; the execution never decides the bias.

The five minutes

  1. Read off the three levels on the all-expirations profile: call wall, put wall, gamma flip. Note which expiration each wall comes from.
  2. Project them onto your ES chart with the current basis. A tolerance of a few points, accepted and owned.
  3. Read the Gamma Bands and the Expected Move: that is the scale of your stops and targets for the day.
  4. Look at the calendar: opex, quarterly, roll, VIX expiration, macro release. A special day changes the distances before the open even happens.
