Options flow and GEX: reading SPX context to trade ES and NQ

Module 08 · 8 · The daily workflow in confluenceLesson 30 of 318 min🔒 Students only

In the evening: a journal by regime and a review at twenty trades

What you write down

Next to each trade, two more fields than usual:

  • Regime: above or below the gamma flip at the moment of entry;
  • Gamma level: at a wall, at a 0DTE strike, at a band edge, or away from any level.

And one line for the day: your morning sentence, and whether the flip was crossed, at what time.

The review at twenty trades

After twenty trades, sort them into four groups: mean reversion above the flip, mean reversion below, continuation above, continuation below. Compare the win rate and the expectancy of each group.

What most traders discover:

  1. Their fades lose systematically below the gamma flip. They have just found a rule worth more than any indicator setting.
  2. Their trades away from any gamma level have a lower expectancy than those at a wall, without being negative. Confluence earns a larger size, not an exclusivity.
  3. Their worst time window is the last hour. The closing pin has a measurable cost.
