FDAX: order flow on Eurex

Module 06 · 6 · The European calendarLesson 25 of 3510 min🔒 Students only

ECB, ZEW, IFO, PMI, inflation: the agenda that moves the DAX

The morning agenda, Paris time

The DAX has its own calendar, and most of its releases drop in the morning, in or around its best window. Knowing them is not optional: a eurozone statistic crosses 40 points in a few seconds, in a book that emptied just before. That is not order flow, it is a lottery, and you do not play it.

ECB Thursday: a day apart

The decision drops at 2:15 pm, the conference at 2:45 pm, the US open at 3:30 pm: three shocks in seventy-five minutes. ECB Thursday is the only day when the DAX has its own afternoon, and when the press conference's levels are European, placed by participants reacting to Frankfurt and not to New York. The 3:30 pm handover is then the test of a still fresh European opinion, and it is the day when module 5's decorrelation is most frequent.
